Criteria & Submission Procedure
NCBW Fort Worth Metropolitan Chapter Scholarship Application Chartered in September 2023, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Fort Worth Metropolitan Chapter is an advocacy organization committed to empowering Black women and girls. We focus on programs that promote leadership development, gender equity, health, political awareness, and civic engagement.
We strive to support our community and empower aspiring young Black women by offering assistance and encouragement for their educational pursuits. NCBW Fort Worth is excited to provide students with the opportunity to apply for funding to help them achieve their higher educational goals. This scholarship is both merit-based and need-based.
Eligibility
Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a Black female.
2. Be a senior graduating during the 2024- 2025 school year from a high school within the Fort Worth Metropolitan Area.
3. Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 on a 4.0 scale Grade Point Average (GPA) at the time of application.
Application Selection Criteria and Submission Procedure
For scholarship consideration applicants must submit the following information to the NCBW Fort Worth Scholarship Committee no later than January 10, 2025.

1. A completed application. Incomplete applications will not be considered, no exceptions.
2. A current high school transcript submitted with completed application.
3. A letter of interest: introducing yourself; your interest; your school, humanitarian acts of kindness you have performed in your community, and/or religious activities you currently participate in. Also, explain why you believe you need this scholarship (One page double spaced maximum).
4. Describe your plans for the future and choose an African American woman who is influential to our society and explain why? (Maximum one page double spaced Written Essay Or 1-2 minutes Video).
5. Two letters of recommendation (submitted separately) are required: one from school personnel and another from a community member who is not a family member. The leaders are required to submit the letters directly to the committee email address of: scholarship@ncbwfortworth.org.
6. A headshot in professional attire (if selected this photo may be submitted in a program booklet and or social media announcements).
Scholarship Awards
Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded.
If you are selected as a recipient, the scholarship funds will be sent directly to your school once your enrollment is verified.
You will receive a letter of acceptance that will include a deadline for you to provide your school's information so the funds can be disbursed.
Application Deadline
Applications, accompanied by all required materials, must be submitted electronically no later than January 31, 2025.
